August 21, 2026 — eGFR and uACR results now recognized as structured data
eGFR and uACR results now count more reliably toward kidney-care quality measures, including HEDIS Kidney Health Evaluation for Patients with Diabetes (KED).
Many EHRs and lab feeds send eGFR — and the labs that make up uACR (urine albumin and urine creatinine) — as free text rather than structured numeric values, so otherwise-valid results could be excluded from measure calculations. Zus Health now parses these results into a standardized structured value and unit, so they're recognized as valid, performed results.
- eGFR and uACR components (urine albumin, urine creatinine) are parsed from free text into structured values with standardized units.
- Results reported with a comparator (for example,
>60) are preserved and counted as valid performed results, instead of being discarded. - Evidence cards and clinical notes now display comparator results like
>60correctly, rather than showing a misleading bare number. - Values outside a clinically plausible range are flagged rather than converted, so implausible results are never introduced into your data.
- Historical results from 2025 forward have been backfilled, so existing data benefits too.
No action is needed — these improvements apply automatically to eGFR and uACR observations across your data. If you consume the underlying FHIR Observation resources directly (via Snowflake or the API), two new extensions let you audit or filter on the enrichment:
