May 12, 2026: View HL7 v2 messages as Source Documents
HL7 v2 source documents can now be opened directly in the ZAP.
What Changed
Previously, when Zus received data in HL7 v2 messages, the data was available in the ZAP but the Source Document was not viewable. With this change, the ZAP points back to Source Documents that arrive in this format - in addition to existing documents like CCDAs - so that you can always trace back to the source of the information you're viewing.
Each HL7 segment is displayed as a table with human-readable field labels and parsed values, making it easier to review source messages such as ADT admits, transfers, discharges, registrations, and cancellations.
Common HL7 data types—including names, addresses, timestamps, coded values, provider identifiers, phone numbers, and locations—are formatted for easier scanning.
