Oct 30, 2025: Search Within Clinical Documents

We’ve introduced in-document text search across all places where clinical documents can be viewed in Zus, helping users quickly find the details they need without scrolling through long records.

What’s New

Users can now search for specific words or phrases within CDA documents anywhere those documents are viewable including the Documents tab, Conditions, Vitals, and other parts of the application that display source documents.

How It Works

When viewing a CDA document:

  • Use the search bar at the top of the document viewer to type a term or phrase.
  • All matching text appears highlighted in the document.
  • Use the navigation arrows to move between each match.
  • You can continue to use the Table of Contents for quick section jumps while searching.

Why It Matters

  • Find key details faster. Instantly locate diagnoses, medications, vitals, and other clinical data.
  • Reduce manual review time. No more scrolling through long CDA documents to find what you need.
  • Consistent experience. The search feature works the same way everywhere you view a document in Zus.

Once you find the information you need, you can export individual sections of a CDA or the entire CDA as a PDF.

Availability

Text search is now available for all users and automatically applies anywhere CDA documents can be viewed.
