September 16, 2026: Usability improvements to the ZAP

We've shipped a handful of improvements to make the ZAP faster and easier to navigate. Here's what's new:

Encounters now available in ZAP Search

ZAP Search now includes encounters alongside documents and diagnostic reports. You can search for a specific visit, such as a hospital admission or an office visit, and open it directly from the results instead of paging through the encounters list to find it.

See which record you have open

When you open a record in a side drawer, the matching row in the table now stays highlighted. In long lists where several items share the same date, it's now easy to tell exactly which one you've expanded. This works across Conditions, Medications, Encounters, Diagnostics, Referrals, Allergies, Immunizations, and Documents.

Find documents faster in the Episode of Care drawer

Source documents like discharge summaries used to sit below a long list of encounters, which made them hard to reach. We've made three changes to fix that. The documents section is now labeled "Source Documents" and sits above encounters, and both the Source Documents and Encounters sections are now collapsible and collapsed by default, each showing a count of the items inside. You can now see both sections at a glance and open the one you want without scrolling.

Manage users more easily on the Admin Users page

You can now search, sort, and delete users directly on the Admin Users page, so administering your team's access takes fewer clicks.
