Improved

Dec 17, 2025: Richer hospitalization details and encounter-level visibility across the ZAP and Transitions views

Last month, we made several updates to data visible in the ZAP about patient hospitalizations. We've continued to improve this experience by adding additional data available in both the ZAP overview and Transitions page.

What's new

An updated details panel for each hospitalization now includes more information about the hospitalization:

  • Simplified the title shown in the card to reduce duplicative data.
  • Indicators if a visit is Non-Elective, Planned, or a Behavioral Health visit in the details panel
  • "Last Location" now included in the details pane to make clear where the patient's most recent location is/was.
  • All encounters that compromise the hospitalization are listed with the most recent at the top. If a patient moves throughout the hospital during a hospitalization, this list view helps users understand those transitions.
    • Users can click "View Encounter" for more detail, including any documents available associated with that specific encounter.
    • All available documents are still at the bottom of the details panel underneath the new list of encounters, allowing user to dive deeper into visit notes and information.
  • This information is available in both the ZAP via the Overview and in the Transitions list in the Zus Web Application.
