Data Mart Integration Paths

Zus offers several different integration paths for customers to access data marts. The preferred integration path for your organization may depend on:

  • Whether you want to query data hosted by Zus, or export the data
  • Your preferred cloud data platform (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)
  • Whether you leverage a third party tool (e.g. Airbyte, Fivetran) for data exports

The data marts integration paths supported by Zus include:

Query data hosted by Zus

  • Access via Snowflake (secure share)
    • Zus can set up a data mart secure share for customers with a Business Critical Snowflake account. This is our recommend approach if you organization has a Business Critical Snowflake account.
  • Access via Snowflake (Zus-hosted reader account)
    • Zus can provision and manage a read-only Snowflake reader account that allows your organization to access your data mart via Snowflake.
    • This integration path works well if your organization does not have its own Business Critical Snowflake account, though users will have fewer administrative permissions compared to a customer owned Snowflake account.
  • Access via Databricks
    • This path leverages the Snowflake / Databricks connector to access data in Snowflake via Databricks.
  • Access via BigQuery (coming soon)
    • This path is under development, and will allow BigQuery users to query Zus data marts directly from BigQuery.

Export data to an external location

  • Bulk export to cloud storage
    • This path enables Zus customers to export a snapshot of the data currently available in their data mart as flat files from their Snowflake reader account to common cloud storage providers (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Storage, Microsoft Azure).
  • Export via external ETL tools
    • This path allows customers to export data from their Snowflake reader account using common external ETL tools (i.e. Airbyte and Fivetran) by setting up machine users.
  • Import Into Tuva
    • For customers leveraging the Tuva data model, this path leverages the Tuva / Zus connector to import the data into Tuva.
