ZAP Search

How ZAP Search finds information in a patient's C-CDA documents, diagnostic reports and encounters.

ZAP Search lets users search a patient's C-CDA documents, diagnostic reports and encounters in the ZAP, instead of scrolling through the record.

What's searchable

  • C-CDA documents
  • Diagnostic reports, such as lab and imaging results
  • Encounters, such as a hospital admission or office visit

PDFs, images and other non-C-CDA files aren't searchable yet.

Smart Search and Exact match

By default, Smart Search expands a query to closely related terms. A search for hypertension also looks for high blood pressure, elevated blood pressure, htn and other related terms. Select Exact match only to turn Smart Search off.

Ranking

Results are sorted by relevance by default, based on how closely the document text matches the query and how often the term appears. Users can sort by date instead.

Viewing results

Each result shows a text snippet for context. Click a result to open the side panel, then select Source Document to open the full document in the document viewer.
